What is RBS Certification?
In California, all individuals who manage or serve alcoholic beverages must hold a valid RBS Certification. This certification is important for understanding state alcohol laws and learning effective methods to prevent alcohol-related issues such as underage drinking and overconsumption.
Importance of Renewing RBS Certification
Renewing your RBS Certification is required by law and it's an opportunity to update your knowledge and skills, ensuring you continue to operate within the law and protect yourself and your establishment from liability.
Verify Your Certification Expiry
First, check when your current RBS Certification will expire. California mandates that this certification be renewed every three years to ensure that all information and training remain current.
Plan Ahead for Renewal
To avoid any lapse in certification, initiate the renewal process well before the expiration. We recommend starting this process at least 30 days in advance.
Stay Legally Compliant: Keeping your certification current is essential to meet legal standards and avoid penalties.
Knowledge Enhancement: The renewal courses provide valuable updates that can help you improve your service standards and customer safety.
Professional Growth: Active and updated certification supports your professional image and career progression in the hospitality sector.
It's beneficial to mark your calendar for your next renewal as soon as you receive your updated certificate. This proactive approach ensures you won't miss critical deadlines.
